Record holder
Record value
31 individual Primetime Emmy Awards
Sheila Nevins’ record is rooted in decades of award-winning documentary and nonfiction production, not merely an Emmy total. Television Academy records show individual wins credited to her as producer/executive producer for programs including White Light/Black Rain: The Destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts, Ghosts of Abu Ghraib, Life According to Sam, Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of God, Manhunt: The Inside Story of the Hunt for Bin Laden, Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief, Jim: The James Foley Story and The Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling. CURRENT-COUNT RECONCILIATION: a 30 June 2026 Television Academy Hall of Fame announcement stated 32 individual Primetime Emmy Awards, but the Academy's later 17 August 2026 Hall of Fame coverage and its current Sheila Nevins profile both state 31 and describe that total as more than any other person. JWR therefore uses the later/current awarding-authority total of 31 and preserves the earlier 32 figure only in the audit trail.
