Champion of England — early 1790s
Daniel Mendoza (1764–1836), a Sephardic Jewish prizefighter in Georgian England, is widely recognized in boxing histories as the first Jewish champion of England. His achievement belongs to the era of bare-knuckle prizefighting, before modern gloves, governing bodies, and standardized world titles. It was an English championship designation, not a modern international sanctioning-body title.
